Here’s our most recent news release publicizing the program we added to do some fund raising for Toys for Tots. We don’t mess around with our giving the way a lot of organizations do. Whenever we do a program like this, our donations are always based on the gross sales price. None of this “x% of the sale of this product after costs but before taxes…” blah blah blah. Why? Because once there’s talk of donating some portion of the PROFIT from an item, there’s a whole lot of leeway as to how that profit amount can be manipulated. Throw in enough “expenses” and there is no profit left to donate from. So we always start with the sales price. If the price is $10 and we say we’ll donate 15%, then you know we’re donating $1.50. That’s it. No fancy mathematical gymnastics needed.
